Large Rattan Chandelier | Ikigai

Large rattan chandelier

Explore natural Asian elegance with the Large Rattan Chandelier from Be Shine.

Every rattan fibre is placed with care, with a precise gesture, inspired by the Japanese philosophy of ikigai, that search for meaning where the art of making meets passion, usefulness and beauty.

This chandelier doesn't just light your room: it brings it into balance.

Its airy spiral pattern, delicate weave and organic shape bring a soothing, natural presence to your home.

It evokes the harmony between artisan and material, between function and pleasure — an object with a reason for being, in the true spirit of ikigai.

The discreet black base and matching cable complete the piece without distracting from it, leaving the spotlight on this sculptural design.

Whether in a modern living room or a meditative space, this light becomes a visual and emotional anchor.

When the Material Reveals the Pattern

When switched on, the chandelier reveals all its magic. The light source, hidden at the heart of the shade, shines through the finely woven wood.

Made from sustainable rattan, this chandelier doesn't just beautify your home; it is also a gesture in favour of the environment.

By choosing this rattan chandelier, you contribute to sustainable practices and the preservation of forest ecosystems for future generations.

What's more, using rattan reduces production waste and carbon emissions, reinforcing its positive impact on the environment.

Add this exceptional piece to your home today and transform your space with natural elegance and an eco-friendly commitment.

How a Be Shine light is made

A beautiful shape is not enough: the material still has to accept it. Before approving a design, we go through it with the workshops that will make it. Here is how one of our pieces came to life.

L'équipe Be Shine passe en revue les tendances déco du moment
01

The style

It all starts with a trend. We follow what circulates on Pinterest, Instagram and interior blogs, and we spot the styles on the rise. Here it was the natural look: plant fibres, wide shapes, warm tones. We also look at where the piece will live, and this one needs height or width: above a large table, in a stairwell, under a cathedral ceiling.

02

Choosing the material

03

What can actually be made

This is where many fine ideas stop. Before going further, we ask the workshop what the material really allows: at that span, will rattan hold? The answer comes down to one simple step, soaking. The strands go into water until they turn supple, they can then be bent without breaking, and they set as they dry. Once feasibility is confirmed, we move on to the drawing.

04

The drawing and the prototype

A flared, very open shape, almost a hat, with rods spaced far enough apart for the light to pass between them. The proportions are drawn and redrawn: too flat and the shade dazzles, too deep and it traps the light. A real piece is then assembled and switched on, and we look at the radiating pattern it casts on the ceiling.

In your home

Once the design is approved, the workshop starts the production run. The pieces reach the warehouse, where order pickers wrap them one by one before dispatch, ready to dress a new home.
